A cricket pitch is deemed dangerous when the unevenness of bounce for fast bowlers becomes "excessive" early in a match. Further, the pitch that offers more than occasional unevenness of bounce for spinners on the first day of a match is also considered dangerous. The pitch is declared dangerous when it "explodes", the rules further state.
