When does EPF stop earning interest?

An EPF account becomes inoperative and stops earning interest three years after an individual retires at or after age 55. For example, an account becomes inoperative at 58 if the individual retires at 55, and at 61 if they retire at 58. In case of early retirement (before 55), the EPF earns interest until age 58 and becomes inoperative thereafter.
