Luxembourg is the safest country for journalists, as per the 2024 World Press Freedom Index security ranking of 180 countries. It's followed by Liechtenstein, Samoa, Switzerland, Denmark, Estonia, Norway, Timor-Leste, Ireland & Mauritania. Syria, Afghanistan, Eritrea, Myanmar, Iran, Palestine, North Korea, Saudi, China & Belarus are the most dangerous. India ranks 162 in journalists' security.
