Which are the world's most electricity-hungry countries?

Electricity demand in India has broken all records over the past four days as temperatures across the country neared 50°C. However, India is the world's third-largest electricity consumer (1.5 trillion KWH), followed by China (8.9 trillion KWH) and US (4.1 trillion KWH), based on World Population Review's 2023 data. Other top electricity consumers are Russia, Japan, Brazil and South Korea.
