Which countries have successfully soft-landed on the Moon?

India on August 23 became the fourth country to successfully soft land on the Moon. Other than India, only three countries including Russia, United States of America and China have achieved this feat. With the successful landing of Vikram Lander, India became the first ever country in the world to land near the lunar south pole.
