Popular artificial sweetener Aspartame is reportedly set to be declared a possible carcinogen next month by a WHO arm. The low-calorie sugar substitute can be found in zero-sugar or diet sodas, chewing gums, candies, cough drops and some toothpastes. The sweetener is sometimes also used to enhance flavouring of baked and canned foods, powdered drink mixes, candy and puddings.
