Which states witnessed highest number of people surrendering passports in last 10yrs?

Between 2011 and 2022, 69,303 Indians surrendered their passports at regional passport offices, as per RTI reply received by The Indian Express. Eight states/UTs that accounted for 90% of people who surrendered passports include Goa (40.45%), Punjab, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Chandigarh. Over 16 lakh Indians renounced citizenship in last 10 years, government said.
