Uttar Pradesh's Banda was the hottest place in the country on Monday, with the maximum temperature touching 47.6°C, according to India Meteorological Department. At 46.8°C, Madhya Pradesh's Khajuraho was the second hottest place, while Maharashtra's Wardha recorded the third highest temperature at 46.5°C. It was followed by Maharashtra's Amravati which recorded a maximum temperature of 46.4°C.
