Whirlpool recalls over 5 lakh washing machines over fire risk in UK

American multinational manufacturer of home appliances Whirlpool on Tuesday announced that it is recalling more than 5 lakh washing machines in the UK. The washing machines that are being recalled are branded as Hotpoint or Indesit that were made between 2014 and 2018. The door locking system of the affected washing machines can overheat and create the risk of fire.
