White pathway made for Jain monks in Mumbai society, repainted after row

A white coating was applied to a pathway inside a residential complex in Mumbai to facilitate the movement of Jain monks, who traditionally walk barefoot. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Sandeep Deshpande criticised the move, calling it “cultural terrorism” that should be stopped. Following the controversy, the pathway was repainted in its original colours.
