Ritabrata Banerjee and Sandipan Saha, who were expelled by TMC, are in touch with 50 TMC MLAs amid reports of rift within TMC. Ritabrata was expelled by CPM in 2017 and fought on TMC ticket in 2026 West Bengal elections. Sandipan is the son of ex-TMC legislator Swarna Kamal Saha and had previously been a councillor with Kolkata Municipal Corporation.
