Sushmita Sen became the first Indian woman to win the Miss Universe title in 1994 at the age of 18. Apart from her, India has had two Miss Universes- Lara Dutta, who won the pageant in 2000 and Harnaaz Sandhu, who won it in 2021. Notably, Dutta achieved a score of 9.99- the highest in history of the pageant.
