WHO declares gaming addiction a mental health disorder

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared the addiction to video games or 'gaming disorder' as a mental health disorder. Likening it to substance abuse, WHO stressed it is not a casual term applied to anyone who spends a lot of time gaming. Symptoms must be sustained for at least a year before coming under the category, the organisation added.
