Air India has appointed Tewolde Gebremariam as its CEO. The African-origin aviation veteran has over 37 years of industry experience and led Ethiopian Airlines for more than a decade, transforming it into Africa's most profitable carrier. In July, he was shortlisted to lead Pakistan International Airlines, but the appointment was not finalised due to pending government security clearances.
