Who is Champat Rai, who resigned after 8 held in Ram Mandir donation theft row?

Champat Rai, Ram Mandir Trust's General Secretary who recently resigned people were arrested in connection with a donation theft row,, was born in 1946 in UP's Bijnor. Influenced by RSS ideology from an early age, he was arrested during the Emergency and spent nearly 18 months in prison. He later joined VHP and became closely associated with Ram temple movement.
