Who is DB Patil, after whom Navi Mumbai airport will be named?

Dinkar Balu Patil was born in 1926 in Maharashtra's Raigarh. He was associated with Peasants and Workers Party and served as a five-time MLA from Panvel and was LoP in Maharashtra Assembly from 1972-77 and again from 1982-83. He was well-known for advocating for farmers’ rights. Patil was also arrested during the Emergency in 1975 for opposing government policies.
