Who is doctor-turned-IPS officer Mahesh Dixit who has been appointed IB chief?

Mahesh Dixit, who has been appointed Intelligence Bureau (IB) chief, is a 1993-batch IPS officer and is from the Andhra Pradesh cadre. Dixit, a qualified doctor who currently serves as special director in IB, oversaw security after abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. He has managed diverse portfolios ranging from operations in Northeast and Ladakh to anti-Naxal desks.
