Who is eligible for Tamil Nadu govt's gold ring scheme for infants?

Tamil Nadu government will provide a one-gram, 22-carat gold ring to infants born in government healthcare institutions under the 'Thaimaman Thanga Mothiram Thittam' scheme. The scheme is available to Tamil Nadu residents, with mothers eligible to claim the benefit irrespective of the newborn's gender or birth order. Beneficiaries have to provide proof of residence to avail the scheme.
