Who is Indian-origin Uday Ruddarraju, new CTO of OpenAI?

OpenAI has promoted Uday Ruddarraju to the post of CTO of Compute. He earlier worked as Head of Infrastructure Engineering at Elon Musk's xAI before joining OpenAI in 2025. Unlike most Indian-origin techies who are IIT graduates, Uday completed Bachelor of Engineering from Hyderabad's Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology before pursuing a Master of Science from University of Minnesota.
