Who is Nithya Raman, the Indian-origin candidate in LA's mayoral race?

Indian-origin Democrat Nithya Raman has secured a place in Los Angeles mayoral race, which will take place in November. Raman moved to US at the age of six and studied at Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her campaign promises to reduce the number of people living in tents and encampments by at least 50% before the 2028 Olympics.
