Who is Oliver Blume, Volkswagen CEO planning to fire 1 lakh staff?

Volkswagen CEO Oliver Blume is targeting up to 1,00,000 job cuts in what could be the biggest overhaul in the automaker's 89-year history, Manager Magazin reported. Blume, who holds a PhD in mechanical engineering, joined the Volkswagen Group in 1994 and began his career through Audi's international trainee programme. He earned ₹79.78 crore from Volkswagen in 2025.
