Ramya Raja is a councillor from Tamil Nadu’s ruling DMK party, serving in Tindivanam Municipality, Villupuram district. She recently came under fire after a video showed a Dalit officer, Muniyappan, falling at her feet, allegedly under pressure. While Ramya claims he did so voluntarily, the officer has accused her and her husband of casteist abuse and coercion.
