Who is Sanjiv Bhatt, ex-IPS officer convicted in 28-year-old drug case?
Ex-IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt has been convicted by a Gujarat court in a 28-year-old drug seizure case. He is serving life sentence in a 1989 custodial death case. Bhatt joined IPS in 1988 after MTech degree from IIT Bombay. He filed affidavit in SC in 2011 accusing then Gujarat CM Narendra Modi of adopting an "anti-minority stance" post Godhra riots.
