Who is Satish Mehta, who skipped IIM placement to build Emcure Pharma?

Satish Ramanlal Mehta, Namita Thapar's father who started Emcure Pharmaceuticals in 1981, did his PGDM from IIM-Ahmedabad. He told NDTV Profit, "I didn't opt for placement as I wanted to do something of my own." Mehta is also a Postgraduate in Chemistry from Pune University and built formulations. Emcure shares listed at a 31% premium over issue price on Wednesday.
