Who is Vikram Misri, who briefed media on Operation Sindoor?

Vikram Misri, who briefed media on Operation Sindoor, is India's Foreign Secretary, who assumed charge on 15 July 2024. A 1989-batch IFS officer, Misri has served in Indian missions in Europe, Africa, Asia and North America and PM's office in New Delhi. He also served as private secretary to three PMs- IK Gujral, Dr Manmohan Singh and PM Narendra Modi.
