Who protects the Prime Minister and how security is planned ahead of state visit?

The planning of the Prime Minister's security during any visit involves central agencies and state police. Broad guidelines are laid down in the Blue Book. The SPG is responsible for the PM's security and it holds a mandatory Advance Security Liaison (ASL) with everyone involved including Intelligence Bureau officials, state police and the district magistrate three days before the visit.
