WHO warns more hantavirus cases 'possible', says public risk remains low

The hantavirus situation is serious and still evolving, but overall public health risk remains low, WHO said. "Given the incubation period for Andes virus...which can be up to six weeks, it's possible that more cases may be reported," WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated. This comes after multiple cases linked to an outbreak aboard cruise vessel MV Hondius were reported.
