Who was Amrit Kaur, the woman named in TIME's '100 Women of the Year'?

Amrit Kaur, who has been named in TIME magazine's list of 100 Women of the Year, was independent India's first Health Minister and Mahatma Gandhi's secretary for nearly 17 years. She dedicated her life to the civil disobedience movement in the 1930s. Born to Kapurthala royal family in February 1889, Kaur studied at Oxford and returned to India in 1918.
