Who was Asima Chatterjee, honoured by today's Google Doodle?

Born on September 23, 1917, Dr Asima Chatterjee was the first woman in India to earn a doctorate in science. Chatterjee's research on native plants contributed to the development of drugs used in chemotherapy and epilepsy. Further, the Padma Bhushan awardee was the first female to be appointed General President of the Indian Science Congress in 1975.
