Who was Dr Kamala Sohonie, the Indian biochemist honoured by Google today?

Google Doodle is celebrating 112th birth anniversary of Indian biochemist Dr Kamala Sohonie today. Known as the first Indian woman to achieve a PhD in a scientific field, Sohonie helped develop 'Neera', an affordable dietary supplement made from palm nectar. It was proven to improve health of malnourished children and pregnant women and Sohonie received Rashtrapati Award for this work.
