Who was Khaleda Zia, the late first female PM of Bangladesh with an India connection?
Bangladesh's first female PM and BNP chief, Khaleda Zia, died on Tuesday. Zia was born in 1945 in Jalpaiguri, then British India's Dinajpur district, and moved to Bangladesh after partition. She served three terms as PM, was married to ex-President Ziaur Rahman, who was killed in coup. She was jailed in 2018 and was known for rivalry with Sheikh Hasina.
