Who was Sethu Lakshmi Bayi? Last maharani of Travancore

Sethu Lakshmi Bayi, born in 1895, was the last queen of kingdom of Travancore. She was adopted into the Travancore royal family, which followed Marumakkathayam or matrilineal inheritance. Her reign followed extensive social and economic reforms. She sparked a wave of feminism, she advanced women's rights, abolished Devadasi system, and promoted minorities.
