Who was SM Krishna who passed away at the age of 92?

SM Krishna, who passed away today aged 92, started his political career in 1962 by winning Maddur Vidhan Sabha seat as an independent. He was Chief Minister of Karnataka from 1999 to 2004 and later served as 19th Governor of Maharashtra from 2004 to 2008. Krishna was also Minister of External Affairs of India from May 2009 to October 2012.
