Who was veteran journalist Harpal Singh Bedi, who died aged 72?

Veteran sports journalist Harpal Singh Bedi passed away aged 72 on Saturday after prolonged illness. Bedi was the former Sports Editor of UNI and also served as Consulting Editor for Statesman newspaper. He was also the press attaché for India's Olympic contingent in 2012 and in his 40-year career, covered eight Olympic Games and countless Asian and Commonwealth Games.
