Who was Ziaur Rahman, founder of BNP and former B'desh President?

Ziaur Rahman, the late husband of former PM Khaleda Zia, was a prominent military officer and served as Bangladesh’s 6th president from 1977 to 1981. Founder of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, he is hailed by supporters as a freedom fighter, while critics fault him for military coups and pushing Islamization policies.
