Wholesale inflation falls to 1.31% in August, lowest in 4 months

India's wholesale inflation dropped to 1.31% in August from 2.04% in July, according to official data released on Tuesday. This is the lowest inflation level seen since April. Wholesale food inflation also fell to 3.26% in August. The government said the positive rate of inflation was primarily caused by increase in prices of food articles, manufacturing goods and other items.
