Wholesale inflation falls to -3.48% in May, lowest in 7.5 years
Wholesale inflation, measured by the Wholesale Price Index (WPI), has dropped for the second consecutive month to -3.48% in May from -0.92% in April. This is the lowest level that wholesale inflation has been at in 7.5 years. Data from Commerce Ministry showed wholesale food inflation fell to 1.51% in May while wholesale fuel and power inflation fell to -9.17%.
