Who's Dr Kotnis, whom China mentioned as it thanked India over coronavirus help?

Dwarkanath S Kotnis was an Indian doctor who died while treating Chinese soldiers during the second China-Japan war in 1942 at the age of 32. Dr Kotnis went to China in 1938 as part of an Indian medical mission after China was invaded by Japan. Dr Kotnis, who's revered in China, had married a Chinese nurse who worked with him.
