Why are 2 cyclones forming in Bay of Bengal within days of each other?
Cyclone Murasu's formation days after Arnab is linked to the Bay of Bengal's active post-monsoon cyclone season. During southwest monsoon, differences in wind speeds at lower and higher atmospheric levels can prevent storms from organising into cyclones. However, these conditions become favourable after monsoon withdraws, allowing weather disturbances over warm waters to intensify into cyclones.
