Why are footballers wearing socks with holes at FIFA World Cup?

Several footballers at FIFA World Cup have been seen wearing socks with holes. Most footballers cut holes in socks to relieve pressure from calf muscles due to tight fits. Players who've well developed calves cut through garment for better blood circulation in their legs so as to avoid cramps during or after a game or a particularly tough training session.
