Why are UP farmers reviving the world’s tallest flying bird?
As India marks National Farmers' Day on December 23, farmers in Uttar Pradesh are helping revive the sarus crane, the world’s tallest flying bird, by protecting its nests and wetlands. Once seen as a pest, the bird is now valued for supporting healthy farms. Through the Sarus Habitat Securement Project, villages across 10 districts are restoring habitats and rebuilding populations.
