Why can't West Indies cricket team take part in Olympics?

West Indies cannot compete at LA Olympics 2028 as International Olympic Committee recognises only sovereign nations with their own National Olympic Committees, whereas West Indies is a bloc of several Caribbean countries. If WI are among eight highest-ranked unqualified teams by December 31, 2026, a Caribbean qualifier will decide which island represents the region in 2027 ICC Olympics Qualifier.
