Why Centre wants three major Delhi clubs to evict nearly 100 acre land?

The Centre has served eviction notices to Jaipur Polo Ground, Delhi Race Club and Delhi Gymkhana Club, which accounts for nearly 96 acres of prime land in Lutyens’ Delhi. During a hearing at High Court, standing counsel Ashish Dixit argued, "The entire area is being redeveloped for public purpose. There are defence requirements, also the Air Force station is there."
