Why did Bengaluru see coldest day of 2024 so far in mid-July?

Bengaluru on July 19 recorded its coldest day for this year so far with maximum temperature of 23.8°C. The presence of an offshore trough that has been forming over coastal Karnataka is said to be primary factor contributing to such weather conditions. This trough has brought cool, moist air from Arabian Sea into the interior regions of Karnataka, said reports.
