Why did DGCA reduce IndiGo's daily flights by 5%?

IndiGo has been ordered by DGCA to reduce its daily flights by 5%, or around 115 flights a day, because of mass cancellations after new crew-rostering rules came into force. The airline and regulator point to pilot shortages, technical glitches, winter scheduling, weather and congestion. IndiGo has sought temporary exemptions and expects normal operations by February 10, 2026.
