Why did Sensex rebound nearly 980 points from its day's low today?

The Sensex rebounded 977 points and the Nifty 50 nearly 319 points from their intraday lows of 72,514.57 and 22,387.35 on Monday, respectively. This came amid value buying after four consecutive sessions of losses the previous week. However, the benchmarks later pared gains amid elevated crude oil prices and Middle East tensions.
