Why did Sweden's Yasin Ayari refuse to celebrate his first goal against Tunisia in FIFA World Cup?
Sweden's Yasin Ayari did not celebrate his opening goal against Tunisia, raising his hands in apology instead. He did so out of respect for his Tunisian heritage. The Brighton midfielder, whose father Azzouz is Tunisian, had been approached to switch allegiance in 2021 but he declined. He celebrated after scoring his second goal in their 5-1 win.
