The rupee gained 41 paise on Monday as easing geopolitical tensions and lower crude oil prices improved sentiment towards emerging market currencies. The currency recovered after the RBI stepped in to limit losses following recent pressure near the 97-per-dollar mark. RBI measures to attract foreign currency deposits and boost dollar liquidity also helped strengthen market confidence.
