Why did wealthy Indians rush to buy property in Greece?

Wealthy Indians' Greece property purchases surged 37% in July-August as buyers rushed to secure permanent residency ahead of Greece Golden Visa changes, developer Leptos Estates said. New rules from September 1 more than doubled the minimum investment required for visa qualification through property buying. The minimum investment in Tier I cities like Athens has gone up to €800,000 (₹7.45 crore).
