Why do Hindus worship amla tree during the month of Kartik?

During the month of Kartik, Hindus worship the amla tree as it is believed to bring peace and well-being to the household. Devotees wake up early and light a ghee lamp near the tree. As per Hindu faith, gods and sages reside on the amla tree during this period. Amla fruit, which ripens during the month, also has medicinal values.
